We maintain two feedlots with a combined one time capacity of 10,000 head. The main yard is located one mile east of Miles City, Montana with another yard at Kinsey, Montana. Pen sizes vary from 50 to 500 head. Pens are sloping, well drained and spacious while being maintained for cattle comfort and optimum performance. Windbreaks are set up in winter for protection and removed in spring to speed pen drying. There are concrete fence line bunks and pads with continuous fresh water tanks that are cleaned regularly. We have several "pasture" pens up to 40+ acres. They are ideal for keeping replacement heifers and other back to grass cattle clean, green and healthy.

Main ration ingredients are corn, corn silage, barley, wheat, liquid by product, and a variety of locally grown roughages. We have the option of several grain by products that help minimize daily costs on stock cows or back to grass cattle. Ration formulation is assisted with consulting nutritionist Dr. Butch Whitman on a least cost basis. Cattle are fed twice daily.

Solaris Feeders is located in the heart of the arid eastern Montana prairie. Our dry climate is ideal for cattle feeding, with a minimum of mud in the winter and low humidity in the summer. Our close proximity to irrigation from the Tongue and Yellowstone rivers ensures a supply of competitively priced, locally grown feedstuffs. |

Solaris Feeders works with several experienced lenders to assist customers with obtaining financing for purchasing and custom feeding cattle.

Vaccination protocols and treatment regimes are developed by our consulting veterinarian Dr. Scott McGregor. Processing procedures are tailor made to fit each lot's history. Pens are checked daily and all pulls are individually monitored. Any questionable death losses are necropsied with tissue samples and sent for additional analysis. In addition, we offer PI BVD testing upon arrival at minimal cost.

All cattle are individually tagged on arrival at processing. Feed bills are sent to customers once a month for feed and medicine charges. Performance analysis lists weights, feeding performance and a profit or loss statement. Carcass and feedlot data are available on an individual or pen basis.
